Day 71 – Deuteronomy 3-4
Ho, ho, ho green giant! 🧌Ok, I don’t know if he was green – probably not – but Og was a Rephaim (giant). 3:11 tells us he’s so big, his bed was 13.5 feet long and 6 feet wide. 🚨Alert! Alert!🚨 Rabbit hole! 🐇
Why does Moses get to know when he’s going to die, but we don’t? That seems unfair! Well, the Bible doesn’t say God cannot or never does tell someone their death is approaching. When Jesus says “we know not the day or hour”, He is talking about His return. In James 4:13-15, he says we don’t know what our life will be like tomorrow. That’s about humans presuming control over the future. So some verses have been taken out of context a little bit to convince us that we will never know. Moses is proof that is not true. God’s words, Jesus’ words, and James’ words are precise… people have muddled them up along the way.
Not going to belabor all the points I want to make here. I will probably do a deep-dive Still Waters on this.👀But this is the verse of the day for sure: Deuteronomy 4:2: “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I am commanding you.”
4:9 – “watch over your soul diligently”. This hit me because we need to do this in all phases of life. Don’t let toxic people suck the faith right out of you, leave unhealthy relationships and unhealthy jobs…. don’t allow them to change you. Get away from them to protect your soul. 🛡️And feed your soul the right food. 🥣
Day 72 – Deuteronomy 5-7
What was it we said about “repetition” before? Last week I said repetition was the foundation of real learning, and I meant it. God and Moses repeat that we shall not worship “carved images” in today’s lesson.
6:6-7 – These words shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently pretty much all day errrrrr day.
Different generation of Israelites, so Moses is repeating the Law to the newbies. 😂
Day 73 – Deuteronomy 8-10
🍞 Man shall not live by bread alone….
TLC’s video is great today, especially the part about punishment and discipline.
God isn’t giving them the Promised Land because they are righteous; He is driving out the existing people because they are unrighteous. TLC says it best when she says “We can’t earn God’s blessings. They are a gift.”
Moses says to circumcise your heart. ❤️
Day 74 – Deuteronomy 11-13
11:24 “…from the river to the sea”. I’m just saying. We hear this phrase a lot these days…. but sorry, not sorry, the LORD gave the land from the Euphrates to the Mediterranean to the Israelites. It’s the land promised to them by God. The Promised Land.

“High places” – usually means the places of worship (of other gods, idols, etc.). God wants them destroyed.
Day 75 – Deuteronomy 14-16
I really got nothing today. Now, I direct you to Tara-Leigh’s daily video. She always knows what’s up.
I did want to note some animals I have never heard of:
🦌 Roebuck – a male roe deer, a small deer
🦅 Kite – a bird of prey related to hawks and eagles
🐦 Hoopoe – a distinctive bird with a long curved bill and a fan-shaped crest
Day 76 – Deuteronomy 17-20
No mediums, tarot cards, or psychics.
🚫No idolatry!
Purge the evil one from your midst.
Day 77 – Deuteronomy 21-23
22:5 – A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
Oh no. I’m in trouble. I wear baseball caps 24/7. I think I’m safe, though. Commentaries I read seem to agree this verse is about intentionally presenting yourself as the opposite sex. 🧢
Some weird laws.
💡Never thought about infidelity being bad because it affects inheritance. Always thought of it in the emotional “betrayal” way. But this is an additional way to look at it and frown up on it!
Don’t mix seeds, threads, yoking different kinds of animals together… TLC yoking explanation is excellent. It is at about the 4:30 mark. 🐂
How in the world do you prove virginity????? 🤔We’re not addressing that here. You gonna have to look that one up yourself…. 😂
