The Dead Sea is a salt lake located at the lowest point on earth.
Water flows from the Sea of Galilee (a place with much life) through the Jordan River into the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea has no outlet, so water flows in but does not flow out, resulting in the inability for any marine life or plant life to survive its waters.
What People Get Wrong (Because Teachers Tryna Be Interesting)
People think it is impossible to drown in the Dead Sea because of the salt content, but that is factually untrue. Despite its buoyancy, people still drown in the Dead Sea every year. The water is so dense, you can’t easily flip back over if you are face-down.
