  • Spiritual Warfare

Let me say something that some people won’t fully understand until they’ve lived through it themselves. Make no mistake about it—this is spiritual warfare. All of it. Now when people hear that phrase, they sometimes imagine something dramatic or mystical, like some distant battle that only happens in church sermons or religious books. But spiritual warfare is usually much quieter than that. Most of the time it’s happening in your mind, in your heart, and in the choices you make when nobody else is watching. It’s the tension you feel between the person you used to be and the person you’re trying to become. It’s the internal conflict between what’s easy and what’s right. And if you’ve ever tried to truly change your life, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Because the moment you decide you want something better for your life, resistance shows up. Doubt starts whispering in your ear. Old habits that once controlled you suddenly feel louder again. The same temptations that once pulled you down start knocking on your door the moment you’re trying to rise above them. One voice tells you to go back to what’s familiar, to what’s comfortable, to what numbs the pain. Another voice inside you reminds you that you’ve already been down that road and that it leads nowhere good. That internal struggle—that battle between your past and your potential—is spiritual warfare. It’s not always dramatic, but it’s constant.

It shows up when you’re trying to forgive someone who hurt you but your pride wants revenge. It shows up when you’re trying to build discipline but laziness whispers that you can start tomorrow. It shows up when you’re trying to live with faith in a world that constantly feeds you fear. The battlefield isn’t somewhere out there in the world—it’s inside you. Every single day you wake up and step onto that battlefield. Not with weapons, but with choices. The choice to keep going when quitting would be easier. The choice to stay disciplined when comfort is calling your name. The choice to live with purpose instead of drifting back into old patterns.

And that’s why growth feels so difficult sometimes. Because it’s not just self-improvement—it’s a fight. A fight for your peace. A fight for your purpose. A fight for the future you’re trying to build. The closer you move toward the person you’re meant to become, the more resistance you sometimes feel. But that resistance isn’t proof that you’re failing. In many cases it’s proof that you’re finally moving in the right direction. So when life feels heavy, when your mind feels like it’s under attack, when the old version of you starts arguing with the new version you’re trying to build—remember this: make no mistake about it, this is spiritual warfare. And the fact that you’re still standing means you’re still in the fight.

  • Psalm 46:10 – Be Still

Stillness isn’t weakness. It’s surrender. It’s the brave decision to release control and trust the One who has never lost it. To “know” He is God means more than believing He exists—it means recognizing He is sovereign, unshaken, undefeated, and fully in charge. When life feels loud, uncertain, or overwhelming, this verse pulls us back…
