Sometimes the enemy thinks he has finally finished us; he throws dirt on our life through hardships, betrayal, loss, and seasons where it feels like everything has gone dark. It can feel like you’ve been buried beneath the weight of it all, but the enemy does not understand the ways of God.
What he meant for our burial, God meant for our planting. Seeds are not destroyed when they are covered by soil; they are positioned for growth in the hidden place where no one sees, and where it feels the most lonely.
God is doing his deepest work. Roots begin to form, strength begins to grow, and life begins to stir beneath the surface. The enemy thought the dirt would silence us, but God knew the soil would grow us. Scripture says in Genesis 50:20, ‘What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good.’
The very place that looked like our end may actually be the beginning of what God is about to bring forth in our lives.
And when the time is right, what was planted in the darkness will break through the ground and reach the light. We were never buried; we were planted.![]()
